Storyboarding in Photoshop

Still alive....blah blah blah.....

I've been spending a little time making some Photoshop tools to aid storyboarding and I figured I'd share them.

First up, pencils. I've searched high and low online for a good pencil brush but haven't been satisfied with any of the ones that I've found, so I made my own. I've just made two brushes for storyboarding use, a pencil and a graphite stick.

Next I made a couple of actions for automating the setup of a storyboard.

The first action creates a simple 16:9 panel with action-safe and title-safe guides.

The second action creates a whole storyboard layout with guides marking out boxes for individual panels and description text.

The idea is that I draw an individual panel in its own file, then place it into a storyboard file, snapping the panel to the guides in the storyboard file. This allows easy manipulation of the board, as well as swapping images with a couple of clicks.
